Thank you for letting us open up our lives to you. We are truly thankful you have chosen life for your child. We admire your courage to carry out such an unselfish act. As you make plans for the future, we know you want the best possible family for your baby. We want to be a part of that future and offer your child every opportunity to become the kind of person you would want him or her to be.
ABOUT US
We met in 1998 through a mutual friend when Amy was in her third year of teaching and Greg was in the Marine Corps Band, stationed about 90 miles away. Since we were not in the same city, we first got to know each other with lots of phone calls, which made it possible for us to discover that we had mutual interests and to share our hopes and plans for the future. After dating for less than a year, Greg proposed and his proposal was one of the most romantic ever. When the Marine Band came to play at the Cherry Blossom Festival, Amy and her family went to watch the performance. Greg was asked to choose a guest “conductor” from the audience to lead the band. He came and chose Amy and she very nervously went to the stage and directed the band for one song. Then Greg came up to the front of the stage, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of a 300-member audience attending the concert. Some of the people in the audience told us afterward that it was their favorite part of the concert! It was a special beginning of our life together. We were married a year later, in 2000, during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
After his discharge from the Marine Corps, Greg decided to fulfill his life long dream to attend college to get his Engineering Degree. He worked part time and Amy continued to teach full time while he was in school. We also built a new home so that we would have plenty of room for a family. After Greg graduated we started trying to have children, but over the next 3 years we discovered that we have fertility issues. We’ve spent a lot of time talking to each other and praying about what our next step should be. We both feel in our hearts that adoption is the right choice for us. We have several close friends who have adopted so we know what a wonderful and rewarding experience it has been for them. |
We love to go swimming |
We love to ride horses, fish, swim, go to the beach, and take trips to sightsee. Our life together right now is wonderful, but the one thing missing is the chance to be parents and share our love with a child.

ABOUT GREG
Greg is a sweetheart and is always there for me when I need him. He is thoughtful, kind, and compassionate and would do anything in the world for me. He has always taken good care of me when I have been sick.

Words I would use to describe my husband are honest, intelligent, caring, generous, supportive, and hardworking. Greg enjoys fishing and being outdoors. He loves trains and loves to go to train shows and play with his model trains. Greg is also an accomplished musician. He played clarinet in high school and in the Marine Corps Band. I gave him a guitar for his birthday a few years ago and he started taken lessons. So now he plays 2 instruments. He worked part time to put himself through engineering school after his service in the Marine Corps. He then worked for an engineering firm in his last year of school and was able to be hired by the Air Force upon graduation. I am extremely proud of everything he has accomplished and the kind of man he is. Greg is also actively involved in our church. He volunteers once a month to help cook breakfast for the men’s Group and he has worked fish fries and other church events to raise money for missions and has served on several committees involved in church leadership.

Greg is also always willing to lend a hand to help family and friends. If someone is moving or has a big project around the house, he volunteers to help. When my sister-in-law was taking Physics in college and struggling with it, Greg volunteered to tutor her. She credits him with helping her pass the course. He’s always there if anyone needs a helping hand. This is one of the many reasons that I love him so much. |
I am so excited to have the chance to raise a child with Greg. I think he will be a wonderful dad. He’ll be excellent helping with homework, going to the park, playing outside, teaching our child to fish, and taking fun trips. And I’m sure he’ll want to share his love of music with our child.
ABOUT AMY
Amy is the love of my life. She has a special gift for always putting others first. She has been the biggest blessing in my life. Amy truly has a gift for being able to relate to children of all ages. She has taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade, working with children ages 5-9. After working to earn her Master’s Degree in Counseling, she served for 2 years as a counselor in a primary school. Amy has also taught Sunday School to 3rd graders for 4 years at our church. She loves children, loves working with children, and I have seen her have a visible influence on the lives of many children. I am often touched by the children in her classroom who want to hug her and be close to her. I’ve seen so many of them get sad at the end of the year when they have to leave her class. I know she would be an awesome mom. Amy loves to read to children, play games with them, and she has an entire Disney library that she shares with her students and with our friends’ children when they visit. One other thing about Amy that makes her special is her love for animals, all animals, dogs, cats, birds, lizards, turtles, and rabbits, and we’ve had all of these in our home over the years (but thank goodness not at the same time). She is a rescuer. If there is an animal in distress, lost, or hungry, it’s Amy to the rescue. |

Our first cat was one we found on the side of the road on our way to church. Amy stopped and picked her up, took her home, bathed her, fed her and nursed her back to health and then kept the kittens she had. It says something about a person’s heart when they care so deeply for innocent little animals who can’t take care of themselves. I see Amy’s true heart and compassion when she is caring for one of her animals. |
WHERE WE LIVE
We live in a small town that is a suburb of a larger city. Our subdivision has many families with children and pets. We have neighborhood get-togethers and barbecues. We live in a four-bedroom, two story house with a fenced-in backyard. Downstairs we have a large den, kitchen, dining room, and our bedroom and bath. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a large room we hope to use as a playroom. We have an excellent school system (where Amy teaches) and our hometown has that “small town” atmosphere with a main street where we have parades and special celebrations geared toward families and children.
OUR PETS
We have two adorable dogs named Ginger and Bailey. They both have the sweetest dispositions. They love to play with their toys and run and romp outside and love to have visitors come to play with them. Ginger likes to look through the blinds out the front window to see who’s coming to our house and Bailey likes to bark to announce our visitors. We also have 3 cats, Chloe, Buster, and Maisy. They are very docile and loving and get along well with our dogs. They all play together like brothers and sisters.
OUR FAMILY

Both of us come from Christian homes and have wonderful, loving parents. Greg has a younger brother and sister. His brother is married and has 3 children. Unfortunately, Greg’s family lives over 12 hours away, so we don’t get to be with them nearly as much as we’d like. Amy’s parents and her younger brother and sister-in-law live very close by. We spend lots of time with them. We are hoping that her brother and sister-in-law will be successful starting their family soon, because we’d love to have a niece or nephew to love and help spoil. We go to Amy’s parents’ house for a big home-cooked dinner every Sunday after church (we all go to the same church); Amy’s brother and sister-in-law come too. We also get together lots of other times on weekends and play games; our favorites are Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary. We also enjoy eating out together, going to movies, and celebrating birthdays and holidays. We get together every Memorial Day and 4th of July and picnic around the pool. We also spend Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter together. |

We have lots of family traditions that we enjoy, such as all getting new Christmas Pajamas every Christmas Eve and posing in them by the Christmas tree and having breakfast together Christmas morning. We all get in the kitchen and cook and laugh and just enjoy being together. We really get along well and enjoy being together. We realize family is extremely important. We feel that everyone in our family will play an important role in your child’s life and have a positive impact. We cannot wait for a new baby to be a part of our family. |

Our marriage is based on love, true respect, and honesty. These traits are the foundation on which we hope to base our life with a child. We realize that a child gets one chance at a happy childhood, and we promise that your baby will receive that in our home. We will support, love, and guide your child to help him or her fulfill his or her dreams and fullest potential. |
