Dear Birthmother,
Will the little bundle of joy want to become an astronaut, doctor, ballet dancer, writer or stay-at-home mom? Who knows but we will encourage, love and support her, whatever she wants to do. We are Craig and Maya and we thank you for reading about us as you go through this difficult time. We want so badly to have a child together and have not been successful despite all the advances in medicine. We always knew how wonderful adoption can be as I, Maya was fortunate to be adopted from Hong Kong as a baby, as was my sister five years later. Our Mom was devoted to our upbringing, working hard to ensure that we had an excellent education. We, too are committed to giving our child every opportunity life has to offer. I am also blessed to have a warm and open relationship with my own birthmother. Rest assured, our child will grow up knowing that her birthmother made a selfless sacrifice by entrusting her to us.

When we first met seven years ago, Maya was wowed by Craig’s intelligence and kindness; Craig was impressed by Maya’s extensive travel experiences and warm, engaging personality. We were married in 2005 at Maya’s family home. |
Our blended family includes Craig’s three teenage sons, who live part-time with us. We all are eager to welcome a little girl into our home and delight in her excitement as she dresses up in her fairy princess outfit and sparkly tiara. As she gets older, we’ll take her to Broadway musicals and the ballet. Craig will teach her how to ride a bike and swim. He’ll take her to baseball games, apple picking, and teach her to skip stones in the river. |
Maya’s passions include the theatre, reading, playing the violin (in both an orchestra and a swing band), and traveling. Maya currently works part-time as a fundraiser for the performing arts but can’t wait to be to be a mom.
Craig was born in Canada and came to the U.S. to attend university. Nine years ago, he started his own company so that he would have more flexibility to be with his boys. Craig’s company helps people who have suffered financial losses due to unethical business practices. He and the boys love cars. Craig’s idea of a hot date is to drive through the car dealership lots! Maya gave him a day at the racetrack for his birthday.

About Us:
When we first met, we couldn’t stop talking to each other. We were so interested in one another and knew that this was the person we wanted to be with for the rest of our lives. While we love spending time together and with Craig’s boys, we are anxious to add a little girl to our lives. We are fortunate enough to have the financial security to give a child a wonderful life. We will encourage and support her to pursue anything that interests her.
In recent years, the whole family has taken trips to Italy, London and China. At least once a year we drive to Canada to visit Craig’s family. We can’t wait to share all of this with our little girl. The photo above shows us in Rome, Italy.
Our Home:
Our beautiful, spacious home has big picture windows onto the woods although we are only a 20 minute drive from downtown. A family of deer feeds in our yard almost every day; woodpeckers wake us in the morning; and a waddling groundhog lives under the diving board of our pool. Just down the road, there is a new unique playground with lots of swings and monkey bars and rides for all ages. Most importantly, our area has some of the top ranked schools in the country.
We have a nursery ready with books, music and toys. We just need a baby to fill the room and add to the laughter and happiness in our home.
Our Family:
Both of us place great importance on our families. Craig’s parents and extended family (4 brothers and 2 sisters plus many cousins) live mostly in Canada. His parents and other family members often travel with us on vacations. Maya is fortunate to have many cousins, aunt and uncle and best friend within a few miles of our home. Maya’s sister can’t wait to come and spoil our little girl.
Christmas with one family or the other means lots of children running around and doting grandparents. At Christmas, we love going out in the snow to find the perfect tree. We enjoy sitting in our family room with the cats cuddled in our laps, enjoying music together whether it’s Beethoven or Bruce Springsteen.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to consider us as a potential adoptive family. Your miraculous gift to us and to this precious child will be honored forever. We wish you the very best as you go through this difficult time.
With enormous respect and gratitude,
Craig and Maya
